My computer zoomed in and I can't fix it.

Help! About a week ago my computer updated and restarted.  After the restart everything on the screen was zoomed in.  I've searched the internet trying to find a solution to this problem.  The only thing that came close was adjusting the screen resolution.  Well, I've done that, it made the screen zoom out, but it didn't fix the distorted problem.  Everything is stretched out wider than it should be and is blurry. I was running Windows 7 home premium at the time of the problem.  I had a free upgrade to Windows 8.1.  I thought maybe upgrading would do the trick, but it did not.  I really don't know how to fix this problem.  It's really annoying.  Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I just checked and it says my display drivers are up to date.  That's a good idea though.  I'm not very good with computers, what do you mean by check once?

Hi,

I can understand the frustration, when things don’t work as expected.

As the issue persist, even before the upgrade to Windows 8.1. I suggest you to uninstall and reinstall the Display drivers, by following the below steps.

  1. Press “Windows Logo” + “X” keys on the keyboard.
  2. Click on “Device Manager” from that list.
  3. Search for the “Display adapters” device from the device list, expand and right click on it and then select “Uninstall”. On the un-installation window, if you have an option: “Delete the driver software for this device” you may select that and then remove its drivers from the computer.
  4. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the uninstallation process.

Once the Display driver is uninstalled, restarting your computer will automatically install the basic set of display drivers.

Do get back to us with the results, we will be glad to help you further.
