My C:\ drive is almost full for no reason (I install mostly small apps in C:\ , apps and games that consumes large data on other drives)

My C:\ drive is 231 GB SSD and I've been searching around what caused it to suddenly got 11 GB left from 231 GB. And I found this from AVG after scanning my main drive for viruses, etc. Why is "Apps Cache files" consumes large amount of data? Is it supposed to? Is it ok to delete it? And how can I delete it? Thanks.

Hi and thanks for reaching out. My name is William. I'm a Microsoft Windows Certified Professional and Systems Administrator. I'll be happy to help you out today.

There are a couple Windows utilities you can run to free up drive space. Start by going to the Start menu > Settings > System > Storage >select Temporary files > Remove files. You may also want to enable the option to allow "Storage Sense to automatically free up space..." in the Storage panel. This MS link also eludes to using this feature: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/fre...

The other option is to go to File Explorer > right-click the C: drive > Properties > under the General tab select Disk Cleanup.

If you need to free up more space, consider uninstalling any unused programs or apps.

Finally, get a 3rd party tool like TreeFileSize or WinDirStat to see a more visual representation of what is using drive space: https://windirstat.net/
