This might have due to incorrect power settings\ incompatible driver.
Let us try the following steps and check if it helps.
Step 1: I suggest you to run power troubleshooter which will tell you if there is something
wrong with the power settings.
Follow these steps to run power troubleshooter.

Press Windows key + X key and Select Control Panel

Select Troubleshooting.

Select View All on the top left corner.

Run Power troubleshooter.
Step 2:
I suggest you to
reset and restore all of the default Power Plans back to their default settings. Follow the steps:
1. Press
Windows Key + X.
2. Select Command Prompt (Admin).
3. At the command prompt, type powercfg -restoredefaultschemes, and then press
ENTER.
4. At the command prompt, type exit to exit the Command Prompt window.
5. Restart the computer and check with the issue.
Step 3: Uninstall Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery, restart the computer and check.
1. Press Windows + R keys together to open the
Run prompt.
2. Type devmgmt.msc and press Enter. This will open Device Manager.
3. On Device Manager, browser to Batteries > Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery,
right-click on it and click Uninstall. After this restart the laptop and the battery charging should start.
