Multiple Desktops

I use 2 virtual desktops.

After I open Google Chrome browser window on the 2nd Desktop, and then go back to Desktop 1 and open Chrome again, it opens a TAB on the Chrome window in Desktop 2. Not good!

Why is it not opening a new Chrome window on Desktop 1?

Is there a way to do that?

Please don't ask me to use Edge. Even though it works the way I would expect, it creates other issues for me. For example, Edge can't "cast/connect" to my Chromecast device from my laptop.
