MSCONFIG SERVICES

I am enclosing pages of screenshots I took (couldn't figure out how to do it on one page) and would dearly love someone, obviously smarter than I am, tell me exactly which ones that "I REALLY NEED TO HAVE RUNNING"

Having them all on slows my sys. down but I really don't know which ones need to be on and those

that don't need to be on.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hey Smeed...

this looks pretty good but I'm still a little confused by not knowing which service I should keep running....

Making them "mostly" Manual seems to be ok but in some instance it would keep something disabled while in fact it should be running....

For example, Windows Defender I will keep running but others maybe, need to be the same but I'm really not too sure...

Thanks for the input, I appreciate it...

Check-mark Hide all Microsoft Services in msconfig to get a better overview what 3rd party stuff is running...

Then go carefully through the remaining non-Microsoft services. Some  of them might not be necessary. Read more about them (and their dependencies) in Services (services.msc) and when in doubt search the internet for more info on those 3rd party programs. Do not do any disabling in msconfig, always best to do it directly in Services.

Personally, I never used Windows 8.1 and don't really have any knowledge about it....

Hope this helps a bit :)
