Mouse Without Borders problem

I have bought a second PC anbd want to control them both from one keyboard and mouse. I discovered Mouse Without Borders and have installed it via PowerToys and at first it worked fine. But as soon as my PCs go to sleep then when I come to use them againit will only work on the one where the dongle is inserted. The work around is to keep moving the dongle each time but that's a pain and surely shou;dn't be necessary.

What I find is that I can move my cursor to the one without the dongle and click on the screen to bring up password but then I can't do anything on that PC, only on the one with the dongle inserted.

My old PC is Windows 10 and my new one is Windows 11, it happens either way round .

Thanks Lynne

Dear lynnechapman!

Welcome to the Microsoft Community!

For your current Mouse Without Borders issue, you can refer to the instructions from our independent consultant in the following thread. Here is the link to the thread:

mouse without borders and sleep mode - Microsoft Community

But I have a question about your description. This software essentially pairs devices through the LAN and transfers small files within the LAN.

You now say that when the second computer is in sleep mode, the mouse can still access the desktop (please point out if I understand it wrongly). In this case, the two computers should not be automatically paired. You said that you can access the screen of the second computer through the main machine, and then click to enter the password and it gets stuck. This is what makes me confused. If possible, please provide some other information so that I can find possible clues.

Thank you for your understanding and support!
