Mostly black and white interface on windows 10

Hello microsoft community,

My mom bought an old laptop at a thrift store. After a while it started saying it had an illegitimate copy of windows 7. It also got a limited interfact which was mostly black and white, and there were some options I couldn't click on. Through school we got a legitimate product code for windows 10 education. After doing an upgrate with that code, we still got the same weird, limited interface. What can I do to get a normal windows 10 interface? The laptop is a dell latitude d830.

Ah I see, you are in High Contrast Mode . . .

Open the Settings App
Go to Ease of Access - High Contrast

Make sure 'Choose a Theme' is set to None - I think you are in 'High Contrast White'

If it is already at None, it might be a glitch, choose another theme, click 'Apply' then go back and choose 'None' and click 'Apply'
