Modern UI File Explorer - This PC - Blank!

(I've got the same problem as mentionned before by someone else)

I installed Windows 8.1 by upgrading my Windows 8 OS. This is a 64bit syste.

After upgrading to Win 8.1 my file explorer launched from an modern ui app like box shows a blank This PC screen:

When I open the SkyDrive app on Windows 8.1 and go to This PC within the SkyDrive app it shows my folders:

I don't understand why this is happening. I need a quick fix otherwise I can't use any Windows Apps that require the file explorer to upload files.

Things I have tried to fix this without any results:

In task manager restarted Windows Explorer.

Un-joined and re-joined my domain.

Logged in as another user. (Same problem)

Made sure all windows Updates are installed on this PC.

Please help!!

Hi Yassine,

Thank you for replying with the status.

Copy old files to new profile:

a. Navigate to C:\Users\Corrupted_Profile_Name\. The profile name will be the corrupted profile name.

b. Copy all the files.

c. Open Control panel and Folder View options uncheck Hide protected operating system files.

d. Navigate to C:\Users\Corrupted_Profile_Name and copy Appdata folder.

Note: Do not copy these three files. NtUser.dat, NtUser.ini, NtUser.log.

e. Navigate to C:\Users\New_Profile_Name\.

f. Paste all those files here.
