If you're missing Windows Process Activation Service (WAS) and HTTP Service on your Windows 11 Pro laptop, it could be because these services are not installed or enabled by default.
Here’s how you can enable or install these services:
Step 1: Enable Windows Features
Open the Windows Features dialog:
Press Win + S, type "Turn Windows features on or off", and press Enter.
Enable Internet Information Services (IIS):
In the Windows Features window, scroll down and expand Internet Information Services.
Expand World Wide Web Services and Application Development Features.
Ensure the following are checked:
Windows Process Activation Service (under its own section).
HTTP Activation (under .NET Framework 4.8 Advanced Services or similar).
Also, check World Wide Web Services if you need the HTTP service.
Click OK and wait for Windows to install the required components.
Restart your computer after the installation is complete.
Step 2: Verify the Services
After restarting, press Win + R, type services.msc, and press Enter.
Look for the following services in the list:
Windows Process Activation Service (WAS)
World Wide Web Publishing Service (W3SVC) (if you enabled HTTP services).
If they are not running, right-click each service and select Start. You can also set them to start automatically by right-clicking, selecting Properties, and setting Startup type to Automatic.
If they are already installed and you still can't find these services, please let me know.
