Q: Missing Bootmgr can't get to load up screen even when windows 7 disc is trying to run for repair.

Ok so I just recently purchased a custom pc. The installed perfectly the first time until my friend messed with my partition on my hard drive. After I restarted my computer, it gave me a black screen with a lot of message then bootmgr is missing press ctrl+alt+del to restart...

so after researching all day today I still have not yet found a solution. I tried everything from trying to reformat the hard drive, to trying to boot up windows 7 disc at start to try to repair. Even when I set the bios to start cd first, when it reached to press any button to boot up disc, it still gave me missing bootmgr after. Anyone have this same sort of issue and fixed it? Please help thanks!

Finally found a solution was by running a boot up disc management by booting up cd first and then I deleted all partition on that HDD after that I was able to run up the windows disc and reinstall windows without the missing bootmgr. Took all night...... luckily my friend had a boot up disc management or I would of be doom!

Setup/Settings (BIOS/CMOS) often F2 as you boot - set the boot order to CD/DVD 1st - it can
easily be set wrong. Also make sure the disk you use is really a boot disk.

References to Vista also apply to Windows 7.

This is serious error and "may" not be repairable without professional tech support from
