Microsoft-Windows-Kernel-Processor-Power

Hello,

While running Quake Champions or other video games I noticed in the events viewer this error showing up - very often followed by a random system restart. Checking over the internet I noticed that a lot of people are suggesting that this error is related to underpowered CPU or system. My PSU was a Corsair AX1200 - pretty old power supply, so I went ahead and I bought a newer Corsair HX1200i but the error seems to appear again - so I don't think this was related in any way to the power supply. I checked temperatures and voltages and they seem to be within acceptable range - even during playing games.

One last change made today while posting this is on Ryzen Master app - Switching the Creator Mode profile from Precision Boost Overdrive to Default, thinking that the app is overclocking my cpu which in the end will trigger the error to appear. I will update later if this will make any changes.

Thanks for your help,
Stefan

Hi Stefan,

I'm Dyari. Thanks for reaching out. I will be happy to assist you in this regard.

Kindly check C:\Windows\Minidump and copy available minidump files to the desktop then share them via One Drive or Google Drive in order to be analyzed and indicate which file is causing the crash.
https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/for...

Also, check C:\Windows and share the MEMORY.DMP file.

If the folder is empty or the MEMORY.DMP is not available, kindly share the Event viewer logs:

Thanks for getting back to me. I forgot to mention that last night I restored a fresh windows backup from 6 months ago when my pc was not crashing. So since yesterday I had no crashes so far but the Kernel Power is still present in the Events log every 10-15 minutes or even more often.

Checking my C:\Windows\Minidump  I see that this folder doesn't exist so far - probably because of the fresh backup.
Also no  MEMORY.DMP file was available in C:\Windows.

Please find my Events Log at the below link:
Events Log - 07.05.23.txt

Just noticed lost of Events for the following error as well:
Netwtw10 7003 None 7003 - Roam Complete

Please help me understand those errors and how to fix them.
Regards.

Thanks for updating me, Stefan,

Netwtw10 is related to the Network adapter drivers. Since your computer works smoothly, you can ignore most of the errors and warnings that appear in the event viewers because Windows usually deals with them without any user's action.

Please let me know if you need further assistance.

Thanks for your reply, Dyari,

Yes, I can ignore those events, but I don't think they are there for no reason at all and somehow I wanna fix them, but how...

  • Should I try to update the Network card drivers since the Netwtw10 keeps showing up in my events?

  • Is my PSU not powerful enough for my system so this Kernel-Processor-Power event is triggered so often, should I increase CPU voltage manually from the BIOS?

I feel like something is really going on with my hardware since those events keep showing up so often...

You can try updating your network driver to see if these events will be fixed. If the issue still persists, please share the event viewer log for further analysis.

Thanks for getting back to me here...

Dyari, I just updated the LAN drivers last night but the event still show up in the log - not sure why this hasn't fixed the issue. :(

The post dated Replied on July 5, 2023 had event BSOD.

The v2 log collector event files started 2023-07-05T00:52:29 and reported no BSOD.

Was that the time interval in which the image restoration was performed?

Yes, the BIOS was a bit old, and I managed to bring it up to the latest version - 4602.
But the Network Adapter and Power Kernel events still trigger very often in the Events Log.

The Windows Backup was restored the day before of starting this post - on July 4th.

My initial thought for the Kernel Processor Power event was that the Power Supply is too old (Corsair AX1200) and is not capable of supporting the CPU anymore. So I purchased a new Corsair HX1200i - hopping for this issue to go away, yet is still there, even after restoring the Windows backup, which was created in December when I didn't had those events at that time.
