Microsoft Windows 11 21H2 update failure

Hello. I am currently running Windows 11 21H2. I made a Windows 10 upgrade years ago. My system is up to date, TPM 2.0 enabled, 16GB of RAM, 75 GB free on system SSD. The update services do not offer me an upgrade to Windows 11 22H2 or 23H2. When I try to install the update through Windows11InstallationAssistant or a bootable flash drive it says "We can not assure your system is capable of running Windows 11" and stops. I've tried various workarounds. Disabling TMP check on installation media, restarting services and deleting cache files, deleting ALL windows 11 updates and reinstalling them, using system health check tools like DISM (no errors), deleting Windows temporary files etc. The only clear error I have is 0x80070003 through Windows11InstallationAssistant. Checking Windows integrity does not show any missing files. Has anyone encountered problems like these and is there a solution? Doing clean reinstall will take A LOT OF TIME and will be a major inconvenience. Thank you

I do not know if this is useful, but a Windows update KB5031358 is bugged in my system. Before, It used to reload the PC and crash 96 percent through the update and roll back. After all the manipulations I listed, It says installed in WindowsUpdate. But, after I start search for new updates it starts downloading it again and then just drops afterwards.

Hi

I'm Rehan, a Microsoft Windows independent advisor and a windows user like you.

I will happy to help you with your query today.

Error code 0x80070003 is a Windows Update error code that usually occurs when Windows is unable to locate or access the required files during an update. However, in your case, it appears to be related to Windows Mail. Here are some steps you can take to fix the issue:

Restart your computer: Sometimes, a simple restart can fix the problem.

Check your internet connection: Make sure your internet connection is stable and working correctly.

Check if there is any update available for Windows: Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update, and check for any pending updates.

Run the Windows Update Troubleshooter: Go to Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot > Windows Update > Run the troubleshooter.

What processor do you have.

You can use GitHub - rcmaehl/WhyNotWin11: Detection Script to help identify why your PC is not Windows 11 Release Ready. Now Supporting Update Checks! to check if there is any problem. The download and a sample screenshot are part way down the webpage.

Hello. Thank you for your reply. As I mentioned, I have applied much more sophisticated methods to solve the problem. I hope that this is an AI response. I have restarted my PC many times. I synchronised time and date. I used Windows troubleshooting and each time it finds some undisclosed error and says it fixed it. I am a Windows user since early 2000-th and for the first time in my life I hear a Windows Mail definition and I have never used such service in my life. Thank you for your answer, but it has no relations to my initial problem

Thank you for your response. Generally, you had a good assumption to what may have been the problem. I've got AMD Ryzen 5800x3D, 16GB DDR4 RAM, X570 motherboard and AMD 7800XT graphics card. Still, I ran the compatibility test you mentioned, just for the sake of argument. It passed. Because I use Windows 11 for 2 years. And installed with no errors two years ago upon release. TPM 2.0 is active. But thank you for your response

Assuming the flash drive you used is the latest available have you tried the update while offline.

The alternative will be to download the latest ISO image from Download Windows 11 (microsoft.com) again go offline and open File Explorer. Mount the ISO and select the new drive that appears then run setup.

Thank you for your fast reply. Tried it offline. Tried older versions of MSDN. Tried changing the flash drive. Tried using Wnidows Creation Tool and tried Rufus. Still, I get the "We are not sure your system is compatible with Windows 11" under Windows 11

Have you ran the windows update troubleshooter.

There are options in this page WINDOWS UPDATE FAILED - error 0x80070003 - Microsoft Q&A
