Microsoft uses wrong verify code email address

Good afternoon all,

On my Microsoft account I have the following "Manage how you sign in to Microsoft"

And below my "Your Info" page.

Now how the heck do I change BBB @ gmail.com  to AAA @ outlook.com ?

Thanks in advance for your help

Hans

PS: I ahd no clue where to post this question. Moderator please move to the correct section. Thank you.

Hi, I hope you're doing good today.

If what you need to do is to add an Alias and make it primary then take a look at this.

https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/12407/...

See that the one that you have is already primary, you don't need to do anything else.

If you're trying to do something else please explain with more details and I'll do my best to help you.

Regards.

Hi Pedro,

Thanks for the help.

I am confused why adding another alias would help.

Your suggestion would not change email address BBB in to AAA. Correct ?

Let me rephrase my question.:

I want to get rid of email BBB completely. And only use email AAA because I am moving away from Google.

How can I do that?

In other words:

How do I change my SignInEmail ?

Okay in order to do that you need to do the following:

If you created the MS account with BBB (Gmail) and you add AAA (Outlook) as an Alias when you go to Your Info > Manage how you sign in to Microsoft.

You should see something like the first screenshot (Attached).

Then you need to make AAA (Outlook) Primary after that just click remove on BBB (Gmail) and you will get rid of it completely. I just did the test and it worked, see the second screenshot (Attached).

Thanks a lot Pedro, for all you help and patience.

As you can see in my first screenshot the email BBB @ gmail.com is not listed in the "Manage How You Sign In To Microsoft". Only email address listed is AAA @ outlook.com , the BBB @ gmail.com is not listed over there at all and therefore can not be deleted :-(

Good morning,

Does anyone have an idea how to change the email address of my Microsoft account ?

Is this perhaps impossible and do I need to close down the account and open a new one.

Thank in advance for your help and suggestions

Good day all,

First of all a warm thanks to all people who contacted me in this thread or elsewhere and invested time and effort to fix the issue described in this thread.

Today it turned out the solution is very simple. And therefore I am kind of disappointed about all the so called specialists that have contacted me in the past couple of months. Volunteers, professionals, even official MS staff apparently had no clue what they where talking about (or I described the issue in the wrong way).....

. . . . until . . . . Mark A from Microsoft contacted me and told me NOT to check EditProfile and tweak those email addresses, but to go to Security and change the SecuritySetting. Is a piece of cake, as indicated in the below screenshots.
