Microsoft update of 7/22/2024 totally screwed up my laptop. I tried to remove it but it is not listed under recent updates. It removed my new Facebook account, changed my browser, made WhatsApp unusable, and many other changes. How do I delete the update?


On July 22, 2024, Microsoft released a security intelligence update for Microsoft Security Essentials titled KB2310138. Microsoft also released a third mitigation option for the CrowdStrike Falcon agent issue that was affecting Windows clients and servers. This issue was caused by a faulty update from CrowdStrike, a cybersecurity platform integrated with Windows, which triggered the Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) error. This error caused computers to restart abruptly and become unusable, disrupting 8.5 million Microsoft devices globally. Microsoft also released an updated recovery tool with two repair options to help IT admins fix the issue.

Regarding your question.

You can try to reboot your computer three times to enter the WINDOWS repair screen.

Select Troubleshooting - Advanced Options - Uninstall Recent WINDOWS Updates.

Regarding the recent blue screen problem caused by CrowdStrike, Microsoft has not pushed Windows Update to fix the problem, but has released a separate fix tool.

So you may want to remember if you have recently opened some possible phishing emails or installed any suspicious software that may have caused your problem.

 

As a matter of urgency, we recommend that you contact Facebook support to recover your account number and use anti-virus software to scan for viruses.
