Microsoft Translator doesn't work offline !

I have installed Microsoft Translator 5.6 with English (pre-installed) and French packs on my desktop computer (windows 10 64bits). It works well online.

But when I am offline, I get the message :"you are offline. you need to download the language packs to use them offline."

Then when I try to translate some words, The app instantly close !

Does it mean that I have to download all the packs for all languages even if I only need to use two of them ? Or perhaps the app doesn't recognize the pack I have already installed.

It seems there is a bug there when using this app offline on a desktop computer. Do you have any idea how to fix it ?

Thanks,

Tom

Hi Tom,

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.

I understand that Microsoft Translator doesn't work offline.

To be able to use Translator when you are offline, you need to download the language packs of the from-language and the to-language you’d like to use when you are offline. The English language pack has already been downloaded.

I suggest you refer to the article for more information on Translator for Windows 10 FAQs

For issues with the Microsoft Translator App:

I suggest you refer and follow the suggestion on how to Fix problems with apps from Microsoft Store

Hope it helps.

Your answer doesn't help !

I have already downloaded the packs of the from-language and the to-language which I use when I am offline. I thought it was obvious in my post.

Sincerely,

Tom
