In order to help you delete the browsing history on your Microsoft surface 8.1, you may refer to the steps provided below.

Clearing The Browser History In Internet Explorer 11 On Surface Tablet using Windows 8.1

1. Open Internet Explorer.
2. Close all tabs. Swipe down from the top of the screen to see the tabs. Each tab shows a little x in the lower right corner that you can click to close it. If those tabs are not closed, they may still reappear in the browser history.
3. You will now see a white screen and address bar.
4. Swipe in from the right to get the Charms Bar.
5. Tap Settings > Options.
6. Scroll down until you see History then tap Select.
7. Put a check in the boxes next to the items you want to clear. Leave the top 3 default options (Cached images, Cookies and Browsing history) and your history will be deleted along with cookies and cached images. You won't have to re-enter passwords for websites you may have saved.
8. Tap Delete.
   

These instructions will not only clear your Internet Explorer browser history, it will also clear the browser history in the desktop version of Internet Explorer.
