Microsoft Office SDX Helper is burning up CPU

SDX Helper is now burning up about 15% of my CPU on a permanent basis. I can't afford this bandwidth.

I believe it is related to Office 365, but not certain. The file is rated "safe" from a virus/malware perspective. Appears to be a user hostile deployment by the Office team.

What is it, and how do I stop it?

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.

The Microsoft Office SDXHelper is connected to a secure download manager, which is used to download/update Microsoft Office. However since you’re facing issues with high CPU usage with respect to this process I suggest to refer to the suggestions posted by Alvardo Ernestolopez, dated March 20, 2019 in Microsoft Office SDX helper- High CPU in background and check if it helps.

We await your response.
