The second URL is for Vista, not W10 and that program is not even in W10.

The problems in the first URL are not the issue  the problem is that the software to control the camera (lifecam3.60) and set properties is not available for or compatible with W10 - apparently.

You can download it, and run it, and it announces that it is not W10 compatible.

Got it, thanks. I tested it in my end & I didn't get an incompatibility prompt. It just unzipped it & nothing happens. Maybe because I don't have that model/version of LifeCam plugged in. Though, what's your Windows 10 version & build? Kindly search/open "winver" to find out. Thanks. Here's the official download page of the installer.

Thanks for the reply - W10 V1903, but I don't think versions matter much, there are *lots* of reports of incompatibility on the web. Some report that trying a compatibility property worked for them - not sure why or how, certainly fails for me.

Are you running W10?

Yes, that is the download I have tried.

And I tried the compatibility mode - no benefit.

The other issues are using with Skype or other apps, it works fine with them, just that without their LifeCam software one cannot control zoom or focus.

As above, there are *many* people with this same complaint, and have tried all of these fixes - so I just thought that MSoft might actually reply - either saying yes, or no-just give up!

Got it, thanks. You're most welcome. Yes, I'm using Windows 10. As per the link below, Microsoft advises to use the same software for Windows 8.1 or later.

Try reinstalling it in Safe Mode with Networking & test if auto-focus exists.

If that fails, I suggest send feedback directly to the developers, so they'll be able to release a patch for Windows 10 1903 version of your Lifecam driver.

Hi Trying to install Microsoft LifeCam 1.4 on my window 10. The exe program say i need window XP?!?!

The two links did not resolve the problem a sit does not address the upgrade issue.
