Microsoft Lifecam HD 3000 with USB 2.0 Extension cable...

When using a USB 2.0 extender with the LifeCam 3000, Camera app reports that the camera is in use, but works fine without the USB extension cable. Logitech camera works fine with the extension cable.

Using Windows 10 64 bit.

Hi,

Let's make sure that up to date drivers are installed. We suggest that you install the updated driver for the device.

Please follow the steps below to update the driver:

  1. Press Windows key + X.
  2. Click Device Manager.
  3. Expand Imaging devices.
  4. Right-click the camera that's having problems and tap or click Update Driver Software.
  5. Click on Browse my computer for driver software.
  6. Click Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer
  7. Select USB Video Device, click Next, and then follow the on-screen instructions.
  8. Reboot the computer for the changes to take effect.
