Microsoft family safety screen time

I would like to remove the family safety screen time lock that locks me out of account and says "this device is locked because of family safety settings etc." Without it notifying anyone. I am not on an administrator account.

Hello, Cubic E

Welcome to the Microsoft community.

Thank you for your feedback. Unfortunately, if you are not an administrator account and are locked out of Microsoft Family Safety, it can be difficult to lift this restriction because these restrictions are designed to protect users (especially minors). Here are a few explanations and suggestions:

1. Contact the administrator

The most direct and legal way to get around this is to contact the administrator responsible for setting your family's security settings (usually your parent or guardian) and ask them to adjust your screen time limits. Communication is the best way to solve the problem, explain clearly why you need more time to use your device and see if you can come to an agreement.

2. Temporary solutions

If you do need more screen time on a temporary basis, you can try the following, but this will still require the administrator's approval:

Request more screen time: When screen time is about to run out, you can request more time in the alert message and the administrator will be notified and can approve your request.

3. Try offline mode

Before you plan to use the computer, disconnect from the network (Wi-Fi or Ethernet).

Once offline, restart the computer, which in some cases may allow you to use it temporarily, but this is not a permanent solution.

4. Using other devices

If your primary device is locked out, consider using another device for your tasks or entertainment. However, this will also require permission and settings from the administrator.

If none of the above methods work, it is recommended that you reinstall windows using USB installation media.
