Microsoft Digital Image Suite 2006 on Windows 10 (64 or 32)

FULLY WORKING WITH NO ERRORS OR DISPLAY PROBLEMS

To install on Windows 10 follow these instructions: (Please read before attempting)

  1. Do This: Double click the 'setup.exe' on your installation media or in the folder containing your software, some media may start the installation automatically, the installation will start, then
  2. When prompted, Do This: Choose Standard Installation, NOT Full Installation, then
  3. When the install stops to warn about IE6, just DO This: click OK, then
  4. When the install stops again to warn about your operating system, Do This: right click - home>sign out, but don't sign out in the next window, just wait a few seconds and then Do This: click - cancel, then on the warning popup about your os, Do This: click ok, the install should continue normally, then
  5. Once the install is complete, you may notice display problems within the software, like text being cut off and pages not displaying properly. This is a simple fix
    1. Just set your screen resolution to 1080p at the native aspect of your monitor, (for example 16x9 aspect, where your resolution would be 1920x1080. Your native resolution and aspect can be found either in your monitors documentation, or simply by searching your monitors make and model number on the internet). Do This: Anywhere on your open desktop - right click>display settings, and set your resolution in the dropdown provided by windows, or, but I wouldn't recommend it
    2. Just keep your 4K resolution, and native aspect, but make sure your 'Scale & Layout' level is on 100%, as normally with 4K, it is set higher (Example 300%) by default, because at 100% everything goes really small on a larger screen. Do This: Anywhere on your open desktop - right click>display settings, and set 'Scale & Layout to 100% in the dropdown provided by windows (WARNING: At this setting, things may appear very small on your screen), then
  6. Do This: Restart your software, and DIS 2006 should function normally, or
  7. (Optional) On some hardware, Do This: Restart your machine

Yes, you may have taken yourself back to HD (1080p) resolution if you chose that option, instead of glorious 4K (2160p), but you can change any of these settings back anytime just by following step 5. here, and selecting your 4K (2160p) resolution again, and correcting the 'Scale & Layout' setting, but for now, at least you can use DIS 2006 with no problems at all.

Remember: Whenever you change something on your display settings, Windows will, by default, ask if you would like to keep the settings. If you don't like what you see, click to return to previous settings, and also be aware that if you don't click anything, your previous settings will be reapplied by Windows automatically.
