Microsoft Authenticator not syncing across devices

(There doesn't seem to be an appropriate category for Authenticator so apologies in advance.)

I've been using Microsoft's Authenticator on my Android phone for a long time and it's been great. I have just upgraded my iPad to a 64 bit iPad and installed Microsoft Authenticator (it wouldn't install on my old 32 bit iPad). After signing in with my MS Account I was expecting all my 2fa accounts and codes to appear but they didn't. Have I misunderstood Authenticator's backup or is there an issue? I want the 2fa accounts and codes to appear on both devices so that if I lose one I have the other.

Hello, I’m Virginia an independent advisor with 20 years of expertise in fixing my own & friends’ PC problems.

Unfortunately the Android & iDevice apps are not cross OS compatible.
The backup & restore only saves the information for that particular OS.

I would recommend sending Microsoft feedback on this as I feel this should be implemented. Windows key + F key will open the feedback app.

I have the same phone and I wanted to test this:

I saved some codes.

I've uninstalled the app.

Reinstalled in and singed in with my MS Account. (Using the restore backup button)

Still, the codes were missing. Only the MS code was showing.

Any ideas why?
