Hello,
Having an annoying issue I cannot seem to troubleshoot.
I have an ASUS ROG Strix B650E-I motherboard with a Drop PC38X headset. It's connected to the Front Speaker Out & Mic In Analog ports on the back of the motherboard as expected.
Effectively, colleagues are telling me I'm quiet on applications such as Teams to the point where they can't hear me. When I go to Windows Settings > Sound, I can barely generate mic input without shouting. However, if I go over to Discord, I'd say the headset works perfectly with good sensitivity.
What could be causing the issue? Is it a visual glitch within the Settings screen that's leading me on a goose chase?
There's nothing with the Asus Realtek Audio Console that I can identify that's the cause, using Microphone Boost seems to make no difference.
The webcam microphone I have seems to be picking up voice just fine, for reference it's USB-connected (unsurprisingly).
What I've tried so far:
Re-installing drivers, both Windows suggested and the Realtek drivers from the Asus website.
Using the Troubleshooter within sound settings found no issue.
Moved from the split port to a combi port on the front of the case - no change.
Toggled settings within the Realtek Audio Console
Restarted the Windows Audio service multiple times
Removed potentially conflicting software such as Steel Series GG with it's Sonar functionality.
I've ordered an adapter to take the spilt analog and adapt it to USB to see if that makes a difference.
Any advice?
Thanks in advance for taking the time to read and potentially help!
