Menus in Applications started to be very large.

Hello

I came into work today, and when I logged into my PC the menus / Ribbon Bars in all my applications are now very large.  The size of the fonts not in the menus / Ribbons are fine.

Example:   Outlook - Menus & Side tool bars are very large.  But in emails & previews are in the correct size.

Chrome/ IE - all the same issue - Menus are very large, but everything else is fine.

Don't know why or who to correct this.

Hi Joel,

I am thinking perhaps the scale layout in settings is set to more than 100% that is why everything appears to be so big. Try this:

• Go to: Settings > System > Display
• Under Scale and Layout, make sure it is set to 100% (Recommended)
• If it's already set to 100%, try to set it to 125% and then bring it back to 100% just to refresh the scaling
• Also check the "Display Resolution" if it's set to the recommended option

If changing the display settings did not resolve the issue, kindly reply back with the make and model of your PC so I can provide you other suggestions.

Sincerely,
Lee

I have done that and I do have Display Scale set to 100%, Resolution set to: 1920 x 1080  (I have tried other resolutions and the same thing happens. I made sure the magnifier is off as well.

I am using the following:

Windows 10 Home
HP Desktop: Pavilion 590

It was fine last night before I left work, I locked my PC and left.  When I logged in this morning the menus / ribbons are much larger.

 Thanks

Joel

Thank you for the additional information Joel.

Try these additional step:
1. Re-connect the Monitor cable

2. Update the video card driver.
- Go to https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservic...
- Expand the Driver-Graphics category, download and install the video card driver
- To check which Graphics Card driver are you using, do this:
> Press Windows + X
> Select Device Manager
> Expand Display Adapters
> Check if the PC has only Intel High-Definition Driver listed or both AMD Radeon and Intel High-Definition Drivers

3. Reboot the system and try to confirm if the Pre-boot HP logo are also looking big. If you are familiar on how to go to BIOS, try to check BIOS and see if the text are big

Sincerely,
Lee

Thank you for trying my suggestions Joel. Since the issue still persist, my next advise is for you to perform an in-place Upgrade:

• Video Guide on how to do the in-place upgrade: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l06XupVqH74&...

• Windows 10 ISO Software Download: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-downlo...
