McAfee, Internet, System Restore... It's all dying.

System Information Compaq Presario CQ5210F 3GB ram AMD Athlon II X2 Windows 7 Home Premium (64 bit) System is 1 year old. _________________________________________________________ Internet (Chrome Firefox) Unable to access internet. The wireless router provides access to laptops via wifi, but ethernet connection does not work in normal or Safe Mode with Networking. Called internet provider: said our computer was receiving signal just fine. ________________________________________________________ McAfee: -Can't run a system scan. “An unexpected problem occurred during your scan. Please click OK to go back to the Home page, and then try running your scan again.” -Homepage says “Your computer is secure” with Firewall marked as on. -Firewall page displays firewall as “off”, and clicking “turn on” causes a flicker from on, then back to off (split second). -Unable to change Firewall settings. ______________________________________________________ System Restore: Does not appear to be function correctly on this system.: “A Volume Shadow Copy Service component encountered an unexpected error. Check the Application event log for more information. (0x80042302)” Turn on Volume Shadow Copy: from DisabledStopped → Automatic and Started. Still no change in System Restore problems. NOTE: Due to lack of internet access abilities, I am unable to update the virus definitions on any of these programs. This puts their usability in question. CCleaner Erased a lot of ****; no change. MalwareBytes No problems found in Safe Mode scan. SuperAntiSpyware Currently Running.... Eliminated 1916 problem files, including 5 trojans. ComboFix Fails to run. Microsoft Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool No problems found in Safe Mode scan. Internet (Chrome Firefox) Unable to access internet. The audio troubleshooter says: “hardware changes might not have been detected” and does not resolve the issue. Attempting to play a random mp3 yields : “Windows Media Player cannot play the file because there is a problem with your sound device. There might not be a sound device installed on your computer, it might be in use by another program, or it might not be functioning properly.” Attempting to play a random video file: “Server execution failure” Computer Processing Speed No problems with computer processing speed. Computer runs as normal. No odd pop-ups. Error messages appear as specified. No change in problems when switching users. Besides the lack of internet, no visible damage is hampering the computer. Note: Computer has been forced into Windows XP theme?? Unable to switch back to Windows 7 Theme. Creating a new user Error Message after creation. “The user profile service failed the logon.
