McAfee discourages the use of Edge
Hi Alexthe,
Thank you for posting your query in Microsoft Community.
Currently Microsoft Edge doesn’t support browser extensions, hence it is not possible to enable McAfee within Edge.
As a workaround you may use Internet Explorer, as Internet explorer has the option of enabling browser extensions.
Refer to the article below for more information about Internet Explorer:

I discourage YOU to use McAfee
because McAfee is a piece of junk
good only to kill your computer perfomance
how I know?
because I can have the McAfee for free from my internet provider
and when I install it my computer was painful slow
I thought my computer was die on me
but when I uninstalled everything went back to normal
the reason to why I decide to install it
is because back in the old days McAfee was the best
but when Intel take cover it
McAfee become a piece of junk software
I didn't want to believe what my friends told me
so I have to go hit my own head to the wall
now I know..!!

I got hacked with ms win 10 and McAfee. My son, an IT pro, said to use MALEWAREBYTES. It found lots of things (PEP) and quarantined them all.

I got the same message on a new pc which came with windows 10 and McAfee one year free. Naturally, I pinned explorer to the taskbar and the first time I tried to access the internet, I got held up waiting for the site to load. That is why I bought a new computer,,,windows vista with explorer was hanging and ridiculously slow. When I switched to Google, it was fine for a day, then it began doing the same thing whether I used Explorer or Windows. Now, I find Edge is extremely fast and reliable, but not safe. What is going on with Microsoft? Don't they know which apps work together and which don't? I am surely thinking about going the Apple route in the future and just giving up on Microsoft. totally ridiculous situation.
