Lots of BSOD in Win 10 - Sony Vaio

Hi guys,

Since I upgraded from Win 8.1 to 10 (less than a month), I've been having a lot of freezings and BOSD's (specially "driver_power_state_failure"). According to Sony, this laptop model is already suitable for Win 10.

I'm posting here the dmp files:

https://onedrive.live.com/redir?resid=F9A854305234580A!10512&authkey=!AJ82432t1hpafiY&ithint=file%2crar

I followed the directions of this post.

Please, any advice will be really appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

5 different apparent errors in 16 crashes.  Please run verifier to find the single underlying issue.

These crashes were related to memory corruption (probably caused by a driver).

Please run these two tests to verify your memory and find which driver is causing the problem.  Please run verifier first.  You do not need to run memtest yet unless verifier does not find the cause, or you want to.

If you are over-clocking anything reset to default before running these tests.
In other words STOP!!!  If you do not know what this means you probably are not

1-Driver verifier (for complete directions see our wiki here)

2-Memtest. (You can read more about running memtest here)

Hi ZigZag3143, thanks for your help!

I ran the verifier, but Windows chrashed too soon and I had to load in Safe mode and disable it. I then collected the DMP files here:

https://onedrive.live.com/redir?resid=F9A854305234580A!10531&authkey=!AFaPIKcB0m2vys0&ithint=file%2crar

I haven't run memtest because of time (I'm currently working). I could do it tonight (overnight).

Please ask me anything you need!

Thanks again :)

While not driver verified the most recent crash was related to the ATI video driver.

Completely remove the current driver (or software) and install the newest driver available.  For instructions on how to do that Read all about updating drivers by my partner JMH3143 here http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/wiki/windows_other-hardware/updating-a-driver/a5e6345e-af9b-4099-bef0-8d22254aa1c1?tm=1436753520149

Hi again, ZigZag3143 :)

Thank you very much!

So far, my windows is stable (and I think is running faster and smooth).

It was driving me crazy xD until I followed the given instructions.

I'll write again if there's any problem (hope not to have to ;)

BTW, and JFYI, when I previous answered you, I checked out that the "Notify me when someone responds to this post" was checked, but I didn't receive any notification in my mail (outlook account). I decided to check this post just in case, and found your last answer.

I don't know if I should report it. Should I?

Thank you very much again :)

How To Find Drivers:

Do not use device manager it may tell you the device is up to date but will not tell you if it is corrupt

Search Google for the name of the driver, or go to the computer makers site.

Compare the Google results with what's installed on your system to figure out which device/program it belongs to
Visit the web site of the manufacturer of the hardware/program to get the latest drivers (DON'T use Windows Update or the Update driver function of Device Manager).
If there are difficulties in locating them, post back with questions and someone will try and help you locate the appropriate program

The most common drivers are listed on these pages:
http://www.carrona.org/dvrref.php
http://sysnative.com/drivers/

Driver manufacturer links are on this page: http://www.carrona.org

Oh, my...

Is there any easier way to do this? Like a software or something similar.

I'm not such a pro user :(

Also, it's time consuming, this is my working machine, and I need to fix it ASAP or I should go back to win 8.1 :'( (and I donn't want to, Win 10 looks great).

Also, searching for some of the drivers mentioned, they belong to softwares I don't currently have, so I think they should be removed instead of updated, but I'm not so sure what to do or how to do that.

Also, maybe this could help, the BSOD messages I'm receiving:

"driver_power_state_failure" (most of the time)

"irql_not_less_or_equal"

"clock_watchdog_timeout" (rarely)

BTW, I'm still not receiving mail nofications when someone replys. :O

I'll check this thread out.

Thank you, thank you very much!!!

It is a complex problem.  You can live with it, work though the "fix", or re-install win 10

Anything you do not currently have can be removed.
