Login Bypass

I know this question has been asked before, but none of the responses works for me.

I had to reinstall everything on my Toshiba laptop today, and as I was going through the setup, I was asked to create a PIN to access my computer. Not a password, a PIN. Now, every time I boot my computer, I have to log in with my PIN.

I don't need to - this laptop never leaves my home.

Now, I've tried the 'netplwiz' thing, and I get this:

Note that I don't get the 'Users must enter a password' option.

I've also tried the Command Prompt method, but, for some reason, my machine won't accept my username.

How do I resolve this?

Hello Nathanlenz,

I'm John an Independent Advisor and a Microsoft user like you. I'll be happy to assist you today. I understand you have a problem with "Users must enter a user name and password to use this computer" option is missing.

Are you using a Microsoft or Local account?

Please try the following methods below.

Please try to toggle off "Require Windows Hello sign-in for Microsoft accounts",
Press Start then click Settings(Gear icon)
Select Accounts > Sign-in options
Toggle off "Require Windows Hello sign-in for Microsoft accounts"

or

Open Registry Editor then navigate to the following path

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\PasswordLess\Device

On the right side pane, double click DevicePasswordLessBuildVersion DWORD
Change the decimal value to 0
Close Registry Editor
Restart your PC

You will now have the "Users must enter a user name and password to use this computer" option under User Accounts

Kindly let me know if this helps or if you have any further concerns.

Sincerely,

John DeV

Ohhhhhhkay. Nothing you offered worked, so I went back and restored the laptop again, taking notes on everything I did during the 'blue-screen setup' stage. Once it was all done, I immediately went to 'netplwiz' and lo and behold, there it was - the 'Users must enter a user name and password to use this computer' option. So I followed the instructions and viola, now I don't have to mess with logging in all the time.

I hope.

I have absolutely no clue what I did wrong the first time I restored this thing. But it looks to be fixed.

Thanks for the help, anyway.
