Windows update keeps on annoying me about a new driver for my non Lenovo keyboard and
always fails, is there anyway to fix it, or at the very least tell it to go away?

I would suggest that you block this update till this issue gets resolved in subsequent updates.
Microsoft has provided a tool Show/Hide Updates tool to block the update
Download the tool from below link

When you run this troubleshooter, it will search for available updates and list them
Select the update which you want to hide. Click Next and follow on-screen directions
