Lego Pirates of the Caribbean glitches on PC

I am trying to play Lego Pirates of the Caribbean PC and for some reason it wont let me grab on to certain objects (like a rope for example) and I want to know how to fix the glitch. I have Windows 7 and this has happened before and all I remeber is that I had to go to the start menu and type run then click on it and put in a code but I don't remember what the code was. Please help!!!! Thank you
