Large Blue box with >> covers every file icon

Looking for some photos I discovered that every file icon in every category (music, documents and photos)  is almost completely covered by a large blue square with white chevron. this is since last update and makes looking for files a pain. Anyone know what this is about?

Hi Carol

I am Dave, an Independent Advisor, I will help you with this . . .

If you are seeing the item shown in the image below, do you have Norton 360 or Norton BackItUp installed on your PC, the blue box with the chevron (>>) is an icon overlay to indicate the status of Norton syncing your files

You can turn off those Norton icon overlays as follows:

Open the Norton Application, go to Settings and on the right uncheck 'Backup status overlays'

.
