laptop keyboard not working properly.

Laptop keyboard stopped working. But power button and keyboard light function key still work. when I power down and go into BIOS, every key suddenly works. As soon as I turn the computer back on, they stop working. So far the only way I’ve been able to fix this, is by doing a full reset on my computer. PLEASE HELP.

Hi Justyn,
I'm Sumit, here to answer your query at the Microsoft Community.

Apologies for any inconvenience you are experiencing. We are happy to help you.

That is odd. Let us try uninstalling keyboard drivers and see if it helps.

• Right click Start.
• Choose Device Manager
• Expand Keyboard.
• Right click the keyboard
• Select Uninstall
• Restart your computer.

• If it is a wired keyboard, try connecting it to a different USB port or another computer.
• If it is a laptop Keyboard, try connecting a spare keyboard to isolate if it is a hardware problem.
You can test your keyboard using keyboard tester website.
• Also make sure the chipset and BIOS is updated.

Hope that helps, and rely on us for any further inquiries. All the best.
Sumit

I just tried uninstalling the driver. I did it a couple times actually, but when I restart and it comes back on, the keyboard lights up and the same two buttons work but nothing else. I also plugged in a spare keyboard and every key worked on the spare keyboard. Also there is a device that appears in my Bluetooth called keyboard_filter_01. Not sure if that is causing the problem but it could be a possibility because I can’t seem to get rid of it.

If you uninstall "keyboard_filter_01" using the right-click menu doesn't it help?
