Laptop Camera Not Working

Hi, I am actually facing this problem from the past 1 week. My Acer laptop camera is not working and I reached out to the Acer Care Centre. They tried to help me with it but they couldn't and described it as an incompatibility issue. Whenever I turn on my camera it says 'Something went wrong' and in the device manager under camera it shows USB Boot. I would like to ask for your assistance in resolving this issue as after the Windows update the camera works but the next day it stops working.

Hi sorry for the inconvenience.

did you update the drivers of your camera??

When your camera isn't working in Windows 10, it might be that the drivers are missing after a recent update.

Please follow these steps:

- Right-click Start
- Select Device Manager
- Go to Imaging Devices and click to expand it
- Right click on the laptop camera or integrated webcam driver
- Select Update Driver software
- When prompted to choose How do you want to search driver, select Search automatically for updated driver software. If there’s an available driver on your computer, select Browse my computer for driver software then choose the appropriate location for updating it (make sure you’re online to do this)
- Select Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer
- Select USB Video device
- Click Next then follow the on-screen instructions
- Restart your computer

Hope it will help..

I have a similar problem   but I have an asus laptop with a non-functioning mic. I've updated the drivers and disabled and re-enabled it but it still does not work

I did a Windows update but it did not work so I reset my laptop but it is still not working.

After the reset, the imaging devices are not there.

I have tried the steps you suggested above but it does not work.

This is what the device manager shows:
