Keyboard shortcut for changing virtual desktop stopped working

Please, please, please, to the people at MS: PLEASE, I BEG YOU, don't start with questions like "What color is your keyboard?" or "Do you have administrative rights", "is your PC an OEM?". I've seen several answers like this in this community coming from MS "Moderators".

The problem is, I use virtual desktops a lot, I change from desktop to desktop with Win-Ctrl-Right or Win-Ctrl-Left. It has been working for years, despite changing keyboards, mouse, hard drives and all...

They stop working out of nothing. What does "stop working means"? If I press Ctrl, then Win and then Right at the same time, they don't change to the next desktop.

Finally, can this maybe related to PowerAutomate ****? It was a process that used lots of resources, so I killled it. As I recall this **** is pretty new, it didn't exist a year ago or so. Can this be the culprit?

Hello luisferfranco,

Glad to see you in Microsoft Community.

Firstly, could you let me know the system version? Please check it (you can display it by pressing the Win key + R key, and entering "winver", then Enter), and only send the relevant information without PII in the next reply.

Then make sure you have multiple (at least two) virtual desktops(Alt + Win), and try switching with shortcut keys.

I recommend that you use the on-screen keyboard to confirm your keystroke responses. Win + Q to open the search box, enter 'osk', Enter and open on-screen keyboard, then try the keys.

Meanwhile, you may restart Windows Explorer. Save your work and open apps, then run Command Prompt as an administrator ("Win" logo key + "Q", enter "cmd", select "Run as administrator"), and enter the following commands one by one.

taskkill /f /im explorer.exe
explorer.exe

Performing a clean boot, this is a mode of disabling third-party services or software, which could help rule out the interference of these elements.

Disclaimer: A “clean boot” starts Windows with a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. It helps to determine whether a background program is interfering with your game or program and to isolate the cause of a problem.

These steps of "clean boot" might look complicated at first glance. However, to avoid any trouble for you, please follow them in order and step-by-step so that it will help you get you back on track.

If anything is unclear, please do not hesitate to let me know.
