Keyboard keys pressed multiple times on hold.

- Not able to use keyboard shortcuts properly, when I press windows key, before trying to hit any other key, the windows popup start menu starts to go up and down

- Can't uses alt + tab. Holding down alt is not working.

- Any key I press and hold is pressed multiple times including ctrl, shift, alt, windows

- And all other alphabet keys also not working appropriately, letters are typed twice in between for example when I try to write "powershell" it typed as "ppopowersshell". I am correcting my words while typing here.

- This problem disappears after pc is started after being shut off for 10 - 20 mins. After startup all the things work just fine for 8 -10 mins and after that the keyboard problem appears.

Hello, Aditya Shrivastav

Welcome to the Microsoft Community.

Hello, thank you for your feedback on your issue here, it looks like you are experiencing a keyboard failure or software/hardware conflict.

Based on what you've described, there could be several reasons for the problem, which could be a hardware failure (e.g., a broken keyboard), a driver issue, or a software conflict.

Here are some troubleshooting steps:

1. Check the keyboard

Replace the keyboard: If you have a spare keyboard, try replacing it to see if the problem persists. If the new keyboard works, then the problem may be with the original keyboard.

Test on another computer: If possible, connect the current keyboard to another computer and see if the same problem occurs. If the problem is similar on other computers, then the keyboard hardware is likely to be faulty.

2. first use the on-screen virtual keyboard to troubleshoot the system itself:

3. Check for malware or background processes

Some malware or unwanted background processes may interfere with the normal operation of the input device. You can use antivirus software to scan the system and rule out the possibility of malware.

At the same time, press Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open Task Manager to check if there are any abnormal processes taking up too much system resources.

You can test it directly after a clean boot:

How to perform a clean boot in Windows - Microsoft Support

Disclaimer: A “clean boot” starts Windows with a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. It helps to determine whether a background service is interfering with your game or program and to isolate the cause of a problem.

These steps of "clean boot" might look complicated at first glance. However, to avoid any trouble for you, please follow them in order and step-by step so that it will help you get back on track.

You can try it out by referring to the steps above, and after that, give some feedback and I will further support you.

Best regards
