Keep my computer from going to log in screen after 60 seconds of being idle.

If my computer is idle for 60 seconds or so, it goes to the login screen and I have to consistently type in my windows password. I have changed the settings to not sleep or hibernate. I could be reading a web article or watching a video and I have to constantly touch the touchpad or hit space bar to keep my computer from returning to login screen where I am required to enter my password. Have tried everything, no luck! Please help, it makes doing school work nearly impossible. Thanks- Chris
