Issues with Webcam

I'm attempting to utilize my webcam but it isn't listed under imaging devices; it is under cameras.  Under Imaging devices is my printer with scanner.  I've been searching the internet but none of the options offered have worked.  For a while I was getting a message that stated it was in use by another app when I attempted to utilize it, even though no other apps were open. Now, I have nothing.   My computer stats are listed below:

In All apps list is Camera.  Have you tried that?

Hi An_Love1,

I am an independent advisor and hope to help you out with this.

HP offers a few troubleshooting steps that you can try to take: https://support.hp.com/ca-en/document/c03430151

Can you let us know what program you are trying to use with the webcam? Also, if you had the specific model of your computer available I could link you to the HP driver page to try to re-install the webcam drivers.

I hope this has helped you. If this is not what you are looking for, please reply and let us know and we would be happy to look into providing some different suggestions!

Regards,
-Ashton

Hello- Yes, I've ensured that the camera was on and that apps could access it.

I was utilizing Chrome attempting to sign onto HireVue.  When the check is run to ensure there is video and audio connectivity, I get the message that another application is utilizing the camera.  The system is the HP Pavilion 24 xa0115st

Thank you.  I did come across the HP site you've provided and tried some of the remedies offered.  I tried the suggestions to reinstall the webcam software and the one that spoke about the WebCam not being listed under imaging devices in Device manager.

Hi An_Love1,

Thanks for providing the extra information.

Could you try the following website and press the "play" button in the black square - in Chrome, it will generally pop up when webcam access is requested. If you hit Allow, your picture should appear. If you hit Block, the box will say "Camera not authorized. Please check your media permissions settings."

Another option is to try a different browser such as Microsoft Edge to see if it performs any differently.

I could not find any drivers specifically for your model on HP's website: https://support.hp.com/ca-en/drivers/selfservic...

This video from HP may be helpful if you haven't already tried these steps: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RhaveEmhsbA

If the webcam was working before, you may wish to try and perform a System Restore to that point in time.

-Ashton

The image devices that are listed in Device Manager ar the scanners and Printers that have scanners.  They are not rhe regular cameras that can de installed on laptops and tablets and those that are plugged in with USB.

I did try the video, unfortunately, it doesn't show anything.

I tried the reinstall of the webcam driver but there isn't one listed under imaging devices.  I'm unsure why or where to find it since there's nothing listed on HP's website for this computer.
