Issue with Gaming Services timeout

I have an issue where I cannot type in windows 11 search bar, windows store search, settings search, in some games like Minecraft windows edition (bedrock). Everywhere else I can type fine, browser, notepad etc.

To get the keyboard working in these search boxes I have to either reset Gaming Services, or uninstall and let it reinstall again. Everything is then fine, if I don't load a Xbox Game pass game. If I load eg, Minecraft Launcher, all still works ok, play game, exit game, do some work etc. But when I shut down the computer and boot back up, I can no longer type in the search boxes, until I repeat the reset of the Gaming Services.

I check in the Windows Event log and I see the following error

"a timeout (120000 milliseconds) was reached while waiting for a transaction response from the gamingservices service."

This all started happening when I signed up to Xbox Gaming PC pass, it was all fine before.

It's really fustrating when I come to use my pc that I have to go through all this, it take 10 minutes to reset gaming services.

Anyone have similar issue or a way to resolve this.

Thanks

Oh my god I have the exact same problem! Since an update of the gaming services on 12th april. If you kill the service when at startup it will come back to normal again. It is the only temporary fix that I found. There was one guy at microsoft who told me to reinstall the os hahahaha (obviously dont do that)

I did reinstall the OS (my laptop is pretty new so not much on it), it was fine at first, but as soon as the latest gaming service update got installed from microsoft store all the problems come back. I have 3 computers in the home, all with PC Game pass and they all started doing this as soon as gaming services got updated.

I found that if I disable 'Fast startup' everything is fine everytime I use the computer, but it does add 5 or so seconds to boot up.

Annoying but it's a temporary fix.

Yeah I was pretty sure reinstalling would not fix the problem. I guess we have to wait for the next gamingservices update... Hopefully it fixes it up.
