Is there a system checker for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020?

Does Microsoft have a system checker application for Flight Simulator 2020 prior to one purchasing and downloading the full software?

Also what is the actual download size?

I know they say you need 150 GB of disc space but i don't think the download file is 150GB.

No not that i have seen.

The download is not 150GB but needs room to expand look at your spec vs the recommended these details can be seen on the store and on steam if you are bellow the recommended i would avoid purchase until you upgrade there are a few videos on youtube now showing benchmarks but most of the players are still under NDA so can't say. The Discord is also active with these discussions.

Hello MailableSleet43,

Good day!

I'm Jericho, a fellow customer and an individual advisor. I am happy to assist you!

With regards to your concern, to check the minimum system requirements of the app. You can go to the Microsoft Store > Search for the game > Under the game, you'll find a tab saying "System Requirements". From there, you can see the system requirements for the particular app.

See link below.

https://www.microsoft.com/store/productId/9NXN8...

For the actual download size, it may actually depend if the game app is simultaneously updating then it is possible that it can increase from time to time.

But with regards to the the 150 GB requirement, this means that this is the only storage space needed for you to be able to download and run the game. This doesn't mean that the game will consume all the 150 GB space.

For other infos, see link below:

Hope that helps! Please let me know if you have other queries/concerns.

Thank   you.

My Systems Specs:

Windows 10 Version 1909

x64 bit system

Direct X 12

Memory 12 GB

Video Memory 4 GB

CPU i7-7700 HQ

Graphics Nvidia  GTX 1050Ti

I assume the above qualifies.

Also will it work with all Windows Mixed Reality Headsets for using VR or is it only the HP G2?

Based of the requirements from Steam you might just make the minimum so don't expect good performance. You will probably be stuck to low settings

MINIMUM:

    • Requires a 64-bit processor and operating system
    • OS: Windows 10
    • Processor: Intel i5-4460 | AMD Ryzen 3 1200
    • Memory: 8 GB RAM
    • Graphics: NVIDIA GTX 770 | AMD Radeon RX 570
    • DirectX: Version 11
    • Storage: 150 GB available space

For VR you are best looking at there site or waiting on VR support announcements if they haven't already

Hello MailableSleet43,

Thank you for your response. Upon checking, your computer specs will surely run the simulator.

With regards to your another concern, with your current specs, it is possible as well to use it for VR as well. See link below and navigate to specs required for info.

Ive already been using this system with a Samsung Odyssey + and Dell Visor WMR Headsets. I just hope Flight Simulator 2020 has support for them from day one or is it only just the HP Reverb G2. Can someone confirm whether these other WMR headsets will be usable or do we have to wait till next year for an update?

Hello I am an independent advisor for the Microsoft community. According to this news article, the Flight Simulator will only support the HP Reverb G2 at first.

Thank you. I cannot understand how they don't already have support for the other lightweight WMR headsets. After all Windows MR has been around for nearly two years now and it's Microsoft own software built into Windows 10. Why the G2 gets first preference is a mystery. Well I will simply hold back on buying the Sim until they factor in support for all the others it also gives me an opportunity to evaluate how smooth the launch is for those that do buy the Sim.
