Is Microsoft Security Essentials available on Windows 10?

I use MSE on my Windows 7 System.

I enable real-time monitoring and do a weekly scan.

I prefer it over any of the 3rd party products (Mc***, W*Bro*****,No***N.)

I'm new to Windows 10. Is MSE pre-loaded?

MSE's successor is Windows Defender, which is included with Windows 10.

Windows 10 comes with a built in Security suite called Windows Security, that includes Windows Defender as Anti virus.

WD has evolved over a great product in recent years and has least amount of issues with Windows, so you need not to have an Anti-virus. You can keep an Anti Malware program like Malwarebytes as an on demand scanner.

Windows Security includes other protection methods for your computer like Controlled folder access, which protects from ransomware attacks, Windows Smartscreen that blocks unsigned software to execute.

Recently, Microsoft has announced that they would be introducing Windows Defender for MacOS as well.

Hi SweetTasha, I’m Virginia an independent advisor.
It has a better version named Windows Security (Defender) which is now on par with the paid antivirus/anti malware programs like the ones you mention, every update to Windows improves WD with new features.
Defender will automatically run quick scans & you can set a full scan schedule.

No Microsoft Security Essentials is not available for Windows 10.

Windows comes with in-built Windows Defender Antivirus.

Windows 10 now contains a full and competent Security Suite . . .

Windows Defender has, over the last few years become a fully featured Security solution

It is on a par with paid for Anti-virus software, the virus definitions are updated regularly, it will not slow our PC down, works well with Edge and it is Free

Defender now has a new feature - Controlled Folder Access, which protects against a ransomware attack

Honestly, you do not need more protection than Defender can supply . ..

OK! I'll go for Defender. 
But I can't find it. I looked in Control Panel>Security and Maintenance. I don't see it there.

Windows Defender Firewall appears to be just that.

Is there some other place to look?

Select Start > Settings > Update and security then Windows Security, that is the place for Defender.

Looking at your screenshot what version/build of Windows 10 do you have. Type winver in Search and select the top result, post a screenshot.

That won't give you the Start button but display the Start menu permanently, turn that off and make sure you are not in Tablet mode.
