Intel chipset driver wont update

System information and device manager both show my chipset driver as version 10.0.22621.3527 with the date being 21/04/2009. On the msi support site for my motherboard it shows the latest version being 10.1.19627.8423 with the date being 2024-04-15, however when I search automatically for drivers windows says I am up to date.

This is for the PRO-Z690-A-DDR4 motherboard with an i5-13600k cpu.

Those drivers seem to be for two different versions of Windows. Are you running 23H2 (10.0.22621.xxxx) on Windows 11?

I will check your Motherboard site.

Don't worry about it. In Intel's chipset driver lingo, the "date" is meaningless.

196xx was supposed to be the big next feature update for windows 10 --- back in 2020. Then Microsoft decided to kill off windows 10 and make windows 11 --- which is 22xxx.

Since Microsoft killed off windows 10, anything 196xx becomes meaningless.
