Installing Windows 10

After getting everything off the drive I install Windows 10 with the media creation tool (USB), It all works until it gets to the getting ready stage and the spinning wheel freezes, this keeps up for 10 or so minutes until the computer turns off.

Hi, WillsGotSkill2,

Let it spin. Windows takes longer to install and Ready the PC.

If it takes over an hour, try doing a clean install if you haven't already.
When it begins to install > When given the Option to Keep Nothing > Select it.

I am using the option to keep nothing, also. The computer turns off after 10 minutes of the getting ready circle being frozen.

Do you have any peripheral devices plugged into the system? Microphone, printer, etc..?

Is it turning completely off or is it rebooting? It will reboot several times during the process of installation.

Did you have a previous Windows OS on the system? If yes, do you have recovery media for that previous OS?

You need to reinstall the previous OS then install Windows 10 on top of it for the upgrade to tie to the Original Product Key. Once it does tie to the Original Key you will be given a Digital License.

Once the Digital License is recognized you may then do a clean install on the system.

Do you have recovery media for the Original OS? A DVD?
It would be in the Properties of the DVD or in a file on the DVD with the extension .lic.

Are you able to open a PowerShell window?
