Install software on 1 user account only

Hi all,

Is it possible to install software on the current user account only on Windows 11 Pro? So i have a pc with multiple user accounts and i want to install the software only to my user account. The installer doenst provide the option install for current user or for all users. At this moment i'm the only admin account, but also would like to know if its possible even if there are multiple admin accounts.

There is no native setting in Windows available to install software on a per user basis, it is the software installer created by the software developer that decides if the software is installed for one user or all users and there is no way in Windows to override that.

Hi Dave,

No native setting. Do you know other software that makes this possible? I want every user to start with a empty user profile. Is this possible?

There is no utility that can do this either, any new user profile will always have access to any software that is installed if the software installer did not give the option to install only for the current user.

You can delete the shortcuts on the Desktop for the installed software, they are located in the Public Desktop, but not on the Start Menu, so it is not possible to block access to installed software.
