I think I have tried every single suggestion multiple times.

It seems this particular driver is the Ethernet driver and it somehow installed it twice?

I've even tried to reinstall windows and "keep personal files and apps" is grayed out.

I ran windows troubleshooter, ran the following batch, rebooted each time, still nothing gets rid of it.

Hello GlenLipka,

Good day! I'm John Dev a Windows user like you and I'll be happy to assist you today. I know this has been difficult for you, Rest assured, I'm going to do my best to help you.

Please try using the “Show or Hide Updates” troubleshooter to hide the driver update. Window Update won’t install hidden drivers or updates. Run the troubleshooter then please try hiding the said driver update that will show in the list. You may try restarting your pc if it helps.

Unfortunately, the official download link for "Show or Hide Updates" troubleshooter has been broken or removed. You can safely download the "Show or Hide Updates Troubleshooter" in this alternative site.

Kindly let me know if this helps or if you have any further concerns.

Tried it three times. Rebooted each time. It shows the update there in the troubleshooter. I make it hidden. It shows under the hidden option. Then I go to the window update screen and it is STILL THERE! It's like a cockroach that just won't die. It's been here for so long. I've tried removing the drivers, removing the intel devices, nothing makes a difference. Ugh.

Any other ideas?

Hello GlenLipka,

Thank you for updating me with that information. Since you've hidden the driver update, it might just be a display bug on the Windows Update settings Page. I would also recommend posting this issue to Windows Insider since you are not on the official stable build of Windows 11.

This thing has been there for over a year.

However, when I woke up this morning it was gone. Apparently the show/hide updates thing worked, albeit strangely. When I did it and rebooted, it was still there. Today (18 hours later) it is gone. I don't know why, but it is no longer in the list.

The underlying problem is likely still there, but at least it's not in my face for every windows update. I'm content to leave it alone.

I tried this fix and it didn't seem to work. Microsoft has told me that I will have to wait until there is a new cumulative update for Windows 11. I will wait and see if that works and if not, they said I would have to do a clean install. I will post once I get through the above steps.

The troubleshooting tool does not detect updates that I should hide.
