Impossible to type the "euro"symbol when using "Alt Gr+e" key combination (French AZERTY keyboard)

Hi and seasons greeting ! We just got a new DELL Alienware M17 X laptop with Windows 7 Professional 64 bits and a french language "AZERTY" keyboard. The "euro" symbol" is supposed to be got in typing "Alt Gr+e". It is impossible to activate it, whatever the soft in action, such as Word 2007 or Excel 2007. However we can get it -and print it- in typing the ASCII code wich is "Alt+0128". DELL support does not know how to solve the problem and suggest to format the computer ! Does Somebody has another more simple solution ? Thanks a lot .

Can you check something: right click on the FR on the language bar on the taskbar > Settings > what keyboard is mentioned in Installed services?

Probably you have a French with a French keyboard layout (is it?), so everything should be OK...

but it's not, so...

Does your Alt Gr work in general (for example, can you press Alt Gr + ' to get { )? Only this combination Alt Gr+E is not working, right?

Some third party software may interfere using this keyboard shortcut. Do you have some software preinstalled with your laptop which is running in a background and may use Rigth Alt+E to its own purposes?

...

Another thing: press Start > type in search box On-screen keyboard and press enter (you will get on-screen keyboard) > press AltGr and see how the keys on your on-screen keyboard were changed. Do you see euro symbol there where it suppose to be?
