Icon from website Pinned to Taskbar, but opens in Edge Icon

In internet explorer, I could pin a website to the taskbar and the window would remain on that pinned icon. So if the website had a different icon, it would keep all of the windows for that icon separate from my internet explorer icon. This was a vital tool for me for years as our business system is web-based so I could keep the system windows on one icon and other internet searches, etc. separate. With Edge, it allows me to pin the individual icon to the taskbar, but when I click on it, it opens a new tab on the Edge window already open. I now use two different browsers to try and achieve the same experience, but would prefer to only use Edge as it performs better. It's very disappointing to lose this feature in a product that is supposed to be an improvement. Your assistance is appreciated.

I am currently on the most up-to-date version of Edge:

Microsoft EdgeVersion 105.0.1343.33 (Official build) (64-bit)

Hi Beverly,
I am Sumit here to assist you with this question.
I believe if you install the site as an app - the same should open in a separate Window. At least how it works on my Windows 11.
When your site is open, click Apps>Install this site as an app.
You can create a desktop shorcut/Pin it to the Taskbar as you like.

Hope that helps.

Sumit
