iCloud for Windows won't open and here's why......

SO after downloading iCloud for Windows the app won't open as the little popup windows informs us that the error code 101 means "Upgrade to iCloud for Windows 12.5 failed"

Here is why, I believe; When you look at the iCloud app under Settings>Apps you will see when clicking on iCloud app and then Advanced Options you will see that the version, is 12.5.74.0, yet iCloud Outlook is 12.5.0.74

Could this be the problem to getting the error code 101?

No matter how many time I've Run as Administrator, downloaded, uninstalled, restarted, downloaded again, it will not resolve beyond giving the error code popup window

Hi Rich. I'm Greg, 10 years awarded Windows MVP, specializing in Installation, Performance, Troubleshooting and Activaiton, here to help you.

The App hasn't been working for awhile so I've been helping many install iCloud which works better than the app once you get it installed. There can be install glitches though so I'll cover those, but first here's how to install iCloud and its features:

As to the App not working, If you want to report this to Microsoft use the Feedback Hub app in Start Menu where developers are tasked to process consumer feedback. They will not even see it here. This is a tech forums staffed mostly by volunteers trying to help others with your problems.

If you want to post back a Share link from your Feedback here others who see this thread can vote it up and add to it.

I hope this helps. Feel free to ask back any questions. Please report back results for all steps given so I know what else to suggest if necessary.

Greg, I'm very happy to hear from you thanks so much.

But with all the links you've added, did you want me to try one at a time in order to see which one works? Or did you mean that I need to follow all the links and instructions? So I'm not, as you can see, a whiz at software glitches.

Rich, the first few links show how to install iCloud and it's features. You may not need any more than those.

But just in case there are any install problems, I gave you everything I have to fix those in advance so you don't have to wait.

Keep me posted on your progress as I will be here to help until the case is resolved.

Greg,

So I'm currently showing the following apps installed

iCloud

iCloud Passwordss

iCloud Shared Albums

then toward the top of my Start Menu I see

Apple Software Update and when pressed I see "Problem with Shortcut - the parameter is incorrect"

Would it be wise to uninstall of all these before proceeding with the links you provided, or just follow them for the steps?

Yes, Rich, uninstall all of iCloud in Settings > Apps > Apps & Features first before installing the program per the instructions I gave in the first few posts.

Keep me posted on your progress as I will be here to help until the case is resolved.
