I'm having problems with my Lenovo T60, I've ran all updates and installed all the drivers that I'm able to install, except for 1 driver that I can not find anywhere. It's the audio driver,
I've checked all over the internet for days and still unable to find the proper driver that will work. I've called the IBM Lenovo support line and all they can do is tell me the website to go to since there is no warranty, been to that one more than a dozen
times already. If there is anyone here that has a Lenovo T60 (8744 5BU) laptop, please help me out here, or if anyone is able to help out it would be great. Any questions please ask, I can give further information. Thank you.

Answer
You need to do more than just run the exe file you downloaded. Running that file (77a224ww.exe) just extracts the necessary files and puts them in a directory on your hard drive. It doesn't actually install anything.
Did you read the readme file, particularly the "Installation instructions"? Did you note that you need to uninstall any previous driver before installing the new one?

- Start Device Manager (Start > Run > devmgmt.msc > OK)
- Click the + next to "Sound, video and game controllers"
- Is there an entry in Device Manager for "SoundMax Integrated Digital Audio"?
- is there a warning icon next to the SoundMax item or any other of the entries under "Sound, video and game controllers"?
- If there is a warning in Device Manager, (a) what is the name of the device and (b) double-click on the device and report what is in "Device status" and "Device usage."
- What happened just before your sound went away?
