I want my little search engine dog back for use in Vista?

Windows XP had the cute little dog or cat in the search window.  I want/need it back as that type of search engine is what I know best.  The new improved search engine in my Vista operating system is not improved - in my opinion.  How can I do it?

Unfortunately, your friendly Search Companion Rover has retired.

 

But if you are more skillful than me, you might be able to get him to visit your Vista installation.  Begin with a web search for Microsoft Agent and learn all about it.  Then visit the MSDN official Microsoft Agent site where some of the MS Agent tools still exist for download.  The rest you can still find elsewhere after you get some hints.  This'll get you started:
