I tried installing the latest Realtek Driver Version (10.0.22621.2506), but after restarting, Windows just reversed it back to 6.0.9553.1. How can I fix this?

Hi, Luiza Malves
Welcome to Microsoft Community.
We understand that after you restart your computer after updating the Realtek driver, the driver will fall back to the old version of the problem, this may be related to abnormal device manager settings and abnormal system components, we suggest you can try the following options:
I.Update the driver manually
Press windows+X to open the device manager.
Find your Realtek sound card, right-click on it, select Properties, and switch to the Driver tab.
Select Update Driver, and then select Find driver on local computer
Select the location where the new version of Realtek driver is installed.
Try to update the driver.
If the above steps do not solve the problem, try the following methods:
Uninstall the old Realtek driver:
- Open “Device Manager” (press Win + X to select “Device Manager”).
- Expand “Sound, Video and Game Controllers”.
- Right-click on the Realtek driver and select “Uninstall Device”.
- Check “Remove driver software for this device” and click “Uninstall”.
- Reboot your computer.
II. Install the latest Realtek driver:
- After reboot, open “Device Manager” again to make sure the old driver has been uninstalled.
- Download and try again to install the latest Realtek driver (version 10.0.22621.2506).
- Once the installation is complete, restart the computer.
If none of these steps solves the problem, then this may be related to your system components anomaly, we suggest you go to Settings - Windows Update to check and install the latest updates.
If it still doesn't work, it means that your system components may be damaged, it is recommended to repair your system by overriding the installation with Media Creation Tool, this is not a reinstallation, it will repair your system and will not delete files or applications. However, we still recommend backing up your computer in advance if it contains important data.
Once you have completed your backup, follow the steps in the guide below:
Visit the site above and select Download Tool Now - Run the Media Creation Tool - Select Yes - Select Accept - Select Create Installation Media for Another Computer - Select DVD ISO File - Save as Local.
Run the local WINDOWS. ISO file - Right-click - Mount - Select Run setup.exe - Select Don't use for now - Select Keep personal files and settings - Select Next - Wait for the WINDOWS Repair installation to complete - Restart the WINDOWS computer.
Disclaimer: At this point, we have exhausted all troubleshooting and I recommend that we try to perform a clean install to get your computer back into a working condition. Please ensure that you backup any important data, including Documents, Pictures, Videos, and more. After that, you can find instructions on how to install Windows 10/11 in the following article by MVP Andre: How to: Perform a Custom Installation of Windows 11 and Windows 10 - Microsoft Community

10.0.22621.2506 is not a realtek audio driver. It is windows' generic audio driver.
Only drivers with versions start with 6.0.xxxx.1 are Realtek's audio driver.
